I'm sure the few of you who continue to follow this blog may have wondered why it's been so quiet (or maybe not). After all, no postings since last August would lead most to believe that I'd given up. Well in a way I had.
The reason for no posts? My muse, my very special friend, the woman I called Soccer Mom is gone. She suffered a massive heart attack in November which took her instantly. Her daughter came home from school and found her dead on the kitchen floor. SM and I had just had lunch and a little playtime just two days before her death. I don't know what led to the heart attack and will never know. Her wishes were that she did not want an autopsy.
Naturally her passing devastated me. Her children are now living with an aunt out of state. I was in a deep depression for a couple of months and basically gave up sex with anyone, including my old college GF (although I did see her in Oct. - I'll share that encounter in a few days). I'm just starting to feel like myself again. But losing her will always weigh heavy on me.
So to all of my female readers and female blog friends - since February is National Heart Month, make sure you see your doctor and get checked. Women do not have the same warning signs as men do when a heart attack is imminent. Take care of your heart, ok?
